Itinerary:
Following early departure from your hotel we drive about five hours and arrive to Eceabat where we have lunch. Following lunch, we take the ferryboat to cross the Dardanelles. Following half hour drive we proceed to legendary city of Troy, where the Trojan War between Greeks and Trojans took place in 1250 BC which was a very important settlement in the Bronze Age. A replica of Trojan horse can be also seen. To date, nine strata were identified and dated down to up. TROY was made known by the world thanks to the epic poems of Homer published in his “Iliad” & “Odyssey”. Troy was the site of the bloody battles fought for ten years and only for a woman; “Helen” of Troy, reputed as the most beautiful then. Its solid outcome –with no doubt- was a “Wooden Horse”, two differ imaginative models of which are displayed today at Troy and in the city of Canakkale. City of Troy was constructed nine times each being on the rubbles and ashes of the previous one. Later we depart back to Istanbul and arrive around 11 pm.
